Tens of thousands of internet radio stations are only useful if you can find the one you want. Musika gives you a way in whether you know the station's name or have no idea what you are looking for.

  • Search by name

    Type what you remember of a station's name and listen online straight from the results. Your recent searches are kept, so a station you looked up last week is a tap away rather than a re-typing exercise.

  • Browse popular and top-rated

    Two ready-made ways to find something worth hearing without a search term: the stations most people are listening to, and the stations the community has rated highest.

  • Browse by country

    Pick a country and work through what it broadcasts — the fastest route to radio from somewhere you have never been, or from home when you are not there.

  • Genres worth starting from

    A curated genre list — rock, jazz, classical, dance, news and more — rather than an unfiltered dump of every tag in the directory, most of which lead nowhere.

  • Filter what you find

    Narrow any search or browse by genre, country or language, and combine all three when you are after something specific.

  • A worldwide directory

    Stations come from Radio Browser, a free community-run directory covering stations from around the world. Musika reads it; it doesn't lock you into a curated catalogue of its own.

Your library

The stations you keep are yours: arranged the way you want them, stored on your device, and no account required to hold on to them.

  • Favourites, in your order

    Drag your favourites into exactly the order you want, or flip to A–Z when the list gets long. A–Z is a view, not a rewrite — switch back and your hand-built order is untouched.

  • Your own custom stations

    Have a stream the directory doesn't list? Add it from its URL and it works like any other station. Playlist links (.pls, .m3u) are resolved to the real stream for you.

  • Recently played

    Everything you have listened to lately, in one list — for getting back to a station you tried but never got round to favouriting.

  • Take it with you

    Export your stations to a file and import them back on another device or after a reinstall. It is your library in a plain, readable format, not a locked backup.

Everywhere you listen

Radio is rarely something you sit and stare at. Musika is built to be driven from the car, the speaker in the next room, or your home screen — without opening the app at all.

  • Android Auto

    Browse your favourites, your custom stations and search from the car's display, with playback on the wheel and head unit and station artwork in Now Playing. Skip to the next or previous station in whichever list you started from.

  • Chromecast and Google Cast

    Send what you're listening to to any Chromecast device or cast-enabled speaker on the network. Station skipping keeps working while you cast, so your phone stays the remote.

  • Home screen widget

    A widget showing what's playing, with its artwork and playback controls, right on the home screen. Tap through to the app only when you actually want to.

  • Quick Settings tile

    A tile in the notification shade that resumes your last station from anywhere in Android — the shortest path there is from "I want the radio on" to the radio being on.

  • Notification and lock screen

    Standard media controls wherever Android puts them, including Bluetooth remotes and headset buttons, because playback runs through Android's own media session.

Listening experience

The details that decide whether an app is pleasant to live with: what happens at bedtime, on a bad connection, and when you want to know what that song was.

  • Sleep timer

    15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes, with the audio fading out rather than cutting dead, and a countdown you can see. Set it and stop worrying about the radio still playing at 4am.

  • Live track information

    Musika reads the now-playing metadata that Shoutcast and Icecast streams send, and the ID3 data used by HLS streams, so you see the track and artist where the station broadcasts them.

  • What you've heard

    Now Playing keeps a running list of the tracks that have gone by, so you can find that one song again after the fact. Clear it whenever you like.

  • Buffer and mobile data

    Choose a smaller buffer to start faster or a larger one to ride out a patchy connection, and get a heads-up before a stream starts on mobile data if you'd rather it didn't.

  • Light, dark or system

    A clean Material 3 interface that follows your system theme, or stays light or dark if you'd rather decide for yourself.

  • Pick up where you left off

    Optionally resume your most recent station the moment Musika opens, so the app is a play button rather than a menu.

Free and private

Most free radio apps are free because you pay some other way. This one isn't, and that shapes what is and isn't in it.

  • No ads, ever

    No banners, no audio spots between stations, no "remove ads" upgrade. There is no advertising code in the app at all.

  • No account

    Nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Install it and it works — an Android radio app with no account is also an app with no password to lose and no profile to delete.

  • No tracking in the app

    No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash-reporting service. What you listen to stays on your device. The privacy policy spells out exactly what that means — including this website's use of Google Analytics.

  • Modest permissions

    Network access to stream, notifications for playback controls, and a wake lock so audio keeps playing. No location, contacts, camera, microphone or file access.
